    What We Want You to Know

    Workforce Development: Lifting People into Livable Wage Careers

    • Building Futures, SOAR, and Women in Tech programs collectively served 298 participants, equipping them with industry-recognized certifications and job training to secure meaningful employment.

    • The Comprehensive Case Management & Employment Program (CCMEP) provided personalized career planning to 243 individuals, facilitating pathways to sustainable careers.

    • The Community Partnering Center engaged 48 residents in violence prevention and intervention services, fostering safer neighborhoods.

    Entrepreneurship Advancement: Growing Locally Owned Businesses

    • Through the African American Business Development Program (AABDP) and the Small Business Development Center, 1,608 clients were supported, including 1,317 minority-owned businesses.

    • These initiatives led to a capital infusion exceeding $9 million, enabling entrepreneurs to start or expand their businesses, contributing to local economic growth.

    Financial Empowerment: Building Wealth for the Future

    • The 700 Credit Club and comprehensive financial coaching programs reached 670 participants, providing essential tools for financial stability, including budgeting, debt reduction, and homeownership seminars.

    Leadership Development & Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders

    • The African American Leadership Development Program (AALDP) celebrated its 31st year, continuing to cultivate future leaders in Greater Cincinnati.

    • The Urban Champions program engaged 22 youth participants, offering leadership training, mental health awareness, and civic engagement opportunities. Additionally, 71 paid youth internships were facilitated, culminating in an Annual Youth Summit attended by over 300 individuals.

    Social Justice & Advocacy: Removing Barriers to Opportunity

    • The Holloman Center for Social Justice advanced efforts in systemic equity and police reform, emphasizing the organization's commitment to social justice.

    • The Urban Expungement Project assisted 159 individuals in clearing their criminal records, thereby enhancing access to employment and housing opportunities.

    • The Reclaim Your Vote initiative engaged 310 citizens, resulting in 216 new voter registrations and providing 93 rides to the polls, promoting civic participation.

    Release of the State of Black Cincinnati Report

    On Juneteenth 2024, the Urban League released the State of Black Cincinnati: The Journey to Parity report, offering a comprehensive analysis of disparities faced by Black residents and outlining actionable steps toward equity.


    30th Annual Glorifying the Lions Event

    Celebrated the 30th class of the Legendary Lions Society, honoring six distinguished community leaders for their unwavering commitment and service.


    Annual Juneteenth Celebration

    Hosted over 600 residents at the Annual Juneteenth Celebration in Avondale, featuring community engagement, cultural activities, and live broadcasts.


    Sold-Out Diamond Gala

    The Annual Diamond Gala brought together community and corporate partners in a sold-out event, celebrating a year of empowering communities and changing lives.


    Volunteer Engagement

    The Urban League Guild and Young Professionals (ULYP) hosted signature events, including the Legacy Luncheon and Affirmed Brunch, recognizing leadership and community service.


    Philanthropic Support

    The organization's initiatives were bolstered by contributions from numerous corporate, philanthropic, and individual donors, including bi3, Fifth Third Bank, Kroger, P&G, and notable individuals such as Gail & J. Phillip Holloman, Barbara & Daman Turner, and Frances & John Pepper Jr.
